Special Educational Needs & Disabilities

At Littleham, we are committed to providing comprehensive support for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to ensure they make significant progress in their learning journey. Our approach is rooted in inclusivity, striving to meet the diverse needs of all pupils within a mainstream environment whenever feasible. We prioritise collaboration with families and value the input of the child, ensuring their voices are heard and respected throughout the support process.

Our SENDCo is Carrie Goodwin. She is available by contacting the school office on 01395 266535 or by email on littlehamsend@thelink.academy

The council is changing the way that young families are supported at Children’s Centres, and is moving towards developing Family Hubs. We are hoping to engage with those who use the services, as well as professionals and community groups, to help influence the changes.

Autism and Us Information - for parents and carers

Our ‘Autism & Us’ programme delivered this academic year will once again be offered during the forthcoming Summer term of the 2023-24 academic year for parents/carers of Devon DCC primary and secondary school children, pre or post diagnosis.

We are delighted to announce that we are offering access for families of children and young people who are currently on the autism assessment pathway, in addition to families who have received an autism diagnosis.

Attending the ‘Autism & Us’ parent programme gives you an opportunity to develop your understanding of autism and look at practical solutions to managing and supporting your child’s presenting needs, whilst also connecting with other parents/carers.
