Year 5 Science

This half term Year 5 have been looking at living things in their habitats with a focus on plants.
We created quadrants to take a random sample of the plants that grow in our school grounds. We found a wider range of plants than we expected! There were plants we did not recognise so we had to use colour, number of petals and other features to identify them.

Year 5 have also looked at the different parts of a flower. We have created our own word mats with pictures and descriptions to help us to remember each part of the flower and the role it plays.
