Great Fire of London

Year 2 have been learning about the Great fire of London. We wanted to know about how the fire started and how long it burned for . We learned about how people tried to put the fire out with only buckets made of leather. We thought about what it would feel like to have all your worldly possessions burned in a fire and about the  people who lived in Grenfell Tower. The children talked about what was special to them and they would like to bury in a hole and save , as Samuel Pepys dug a hole and saved his wine and cheese. We looked at how houses were built and made at the time of the fire and reproduced our own in technology. As the finale to the topic we burned our houses.
