Volume of a Cuboid

Year 5 children have been learning about the volume of cuboids. They were set the challenge of making as many different cuboids that had a volume of 24 multi link cubes. The children then had to explain what they found out. They realised that they multiplied the three dimensions of the shape to find the volume and that the dimensions were factors of the volume. Next, they were given the challenge to make a net for 20, 1cm cubes and to find different ways to do this. It took a lot of trial and improvement to tackle the task.
