Trees, Trees, Trees!

Years 5 and 6 at Littleham have been planting more trees around the edge of our field. We planted hazel, dog rose and maple amongst others. Pupils had to dig a hole, place the bare root plant in and then added a protective cover to stop the plant being eaten. The pupils learned that the covers are made from biodegradable cellulose, made from plants so there will be no plastic pollution.
Trees that were planted back in December are almost in blossom and could well produce fruit this year. Watch this space.
Chloe from Year 5 said that she loved planting trees and we all agreed that it felt good doing something positive for future generations.
