Multi Sports Festival

Ten of the Exmouth Learning Community schools came together for the KS2 ‘Funfest’ festival on Thursday 20th January. The event was targeted for pupils with additional needs with activities designed to nurture, encourage and develop their physical skills and social skills. The school groups went around six activity stations led by the brilliant Year 8 Sport leaders from ECC. The activities were: 1) Gymnastics balance and balance stuck in the mud 2) ‘Ribbit’ passing game, 3) Active noughts & crosses, 4) Benchball, 5) Parachute games, 6) Boccia.

It was lovely to watch the children play and interact with the older ECC students. Some were nervous as they entered the hall as it was the first big event they have experienced, so this was extra special to see them really enjoying themselves.

All schools were sent a copy of the activities and certificates for all the pupils to celebrate their achievements. Many thanks to all the schools for giving the pupils this opportunity and to the ECC leaders who really engaged and lead so well.
