Kingfisher Award

During a recent visit to Stantyway Farm, Otterton as part of this year’s King Fisher Award the Year 3 and 4 pupils benefitted on so many levels.  Pupils were proud to be able to build on their limited knowledge of organic farming and importantly explore an area of natural beauty plus a working farm. So many of them were excited to approach the farm and then sneak a closer look at the cows! Farmer Sam was fantastic with the children during his impromptu talk sharing amazing facts about the life of a cow!

Many children came away with a new understanding about farming but also are beginning to see the benefits to health and well-being when we learn in the natural environment.

Enormous thanks must go to Lord Clinton’s Charitable Trust for funding our recent visit and all the good work that they do.
